The Obstacle with Plastic Finger Picks

Now let’s talk about the problem with plastic finger picks.  The problem is this - learning to finger pick guitar using plastic finger picks is not easy!  NOT BY A LONG SHOT!!!  This is the REAL REASON why so few guitarists have learned to do it and to do it well.  This difficulty proves to be an obstacle for many guitarists and they never get past it.  However, to my way of thinking, and what I've tried to convey to you is, this is just another one of the reasons WHY it's worth the effort to learn how to finger pick using plastic picks.  If you become accomplished at finger style guitar using plastic finger picks you will have risen above all those who haven't taken the time, or didn't have what it takes to master this art.  With patience, persistence and practice, practice, practice, you too can master this fine art of finger picking guitar.  However, it will take determination and stick-to-itiveness.  You have to WANT to learn how to finger pick, using plastic finger picks.  As I've explained above, you will need to have that "desire" to do it.  That is one reason why I've have spent so much time and effort writing all of this.  I'm trying to help you understand WHY you should learn to finger pick guitar, using plastic finger picks, because you are going to need that motivation to keep up with it.

Another obstacle to using plastic finger picks these days is that they are so hard to find.  Someone suggested to me that this was because metal picks are better then plastic.  However, that is not the case.  The reason that plastic finger picks can’t be found in music stores today is because those have stores are in the business of selling things.  Plastic finger picks don’t sell enough anymore to make it worth their wile to carry them.  There are two main reasons for this.  One, is because the “folk” rage of the 60’s and 70’s is now over and few people use picks of any kind when playing guitar anymore.  Another reason is because metal picks are much easier to fit to your fingers.  So people who don’t know any better like to take the easy route.  However, Metal picks were originally designed to be used on steel guitar and banjo.  Plastic picks were designed to be used with guitars.

So here I’m trying to help you over come these obstacles.  I’m offering plastic finger picks on my web site for those who can’t find them in their locale stores.  Also I’m including with the purchase of the finger picks instructions on how to wear them properly and how to fit them so they feel and work just great.  Finally, I’ve spent a lot of time working on this web site to help you to get past those difficult stages of learning to finger pick using plastic finger picks.
